Dócil Vinho Verde 2024

Vinho Verde | White | 2024

This white wine comes from Loureiro vines grown on granite soils and over 20 years old. Hand-harvested, gently pressed, fermented in stainless steel without malolactic fermentation, then aged on fine lees for five months. The result is a clear, floral, delicate wine with a well-structured, saline acidity. An elegant, fresh, and vibrant white wine.

Our opinion on the vintage

The wine is clear and pale. The nose opens with aromas of white flowers and citrus fruits—lemon, grapefruit—with a light tropical note (mandarin, green apple). On the palate, the attack is clean and fresh. The texture is delicate, carried by a vibrant acidity that lingers on a long, saline finish. A taut, almost spicy structure is perceptible, not excessive but definitely present. This is a lively, vibrant, subtle, and easy-drinking white wine, ideal for pairing with seafood, Asian cuisine, or light herb dishes.

Nieeport

Portugal | Portugal

Niepoort is a renowned Portuguese winery founded in 1842 by Fransiscus Marius van der Niepoort in Porto, in the heart of the Douro region. Today, it has been run by the family for five generations. It is known for its historic Port wines as well as its high-quality dry wines produced in the Douro Valley and other Portuguese regions.

Over time, Niepoort acquired several wine estates, including Quinta de Nápoles and Quinta do Carril in the Cima Corgo sub-region, to cultivate its own old vines, some over 80 years old. The winery thus produces a wide range of red, white, rosé, and fortified wines that reflect the diversity of the Douro's schist terroirs and the family's approach to winemaking.

Under the leadership of Dirk Niepoort, the house has broadened its focus towards modern dry wines, with cuvées that combine elegance, finesse and tradition, while maintaining a reputation for excellence
