Tall Grass 2021

Corbières | Red | 2021

This wine from the Hautes-Corbières region is distinguished by its production from Grenache, Carignan, and Syrah grapes, carefully cultivated according to organic farming principles. The old vines, some over 50 years old, contribute to a low yield but high quality. Vinification begins with destemmed grapes and pre-fermentation blending of a portion of the grapes, followed by aging in concrete tanks on the lees, which imparts a smooth and complex structure to each varietal.

Our opinion on the vintage

At first glance, its deep garnet color and purplish highlights captivate the eye. The nose, elegant and fresh, reveals aromas of candied black fruits subtly mingled with resinous and balsamic notes. On the palate, the wine is ample and silky, offering a sensory experience that is both intense and ethereal. Fruit flavors mingle with notes of menthol and eucalyptus, providing a pleasant freshness. The long and balanced finish continues to charm with its finesse, combining the candied character with a delicate hint of blackcurrant and menthol. A wine of remarkable depth and striking balance.

Languedoc | France

Jeff Carrel's work in the Languedoc region focuses on vineyards that are sometimes neglected or challenging, revitalized through a pragmatic approach to winemaking. Carignan, Grenache, and Syrah are cultivated according to the specific plots, resulting in wines that are sometimes juicy, sometimes more structured.

The winemaking process remains intentionally simple, in order to preserve the rhythm and character of the wines. Some cuvées prioritize immediate enjoyment, while others emphasize a more assertive structure. The entire range is distinguished by a direct, accessible style, clearly expressing the Languedoc landscape.
