La Garrelière

The Little Chenin

Val De Loire | White | 2023

Located in the heart of Touraine, Domaine de la Garrelière produces exceptional wines. François Plouzeau, a passionate winemaker, has practiced biodynamic farming there since 1993, avoiding all synthetic chemicals.

This wine is the result of meticulous work, with direct pressing and natural fermentation, followed by aging on fine lees. The unique terroir of aeolian sand over flinty clay helps to reveal all the richness and purity of Chenin Blanc.

Our opinion on the vintage

From the first whiff, this Chenin Blanc reveals itself with a beautiful aromatic intensity evoking notes of orchard fruits and white flowers. On the palate, the attack is direct, followed by a smooth texture that envelops the palate. The lively acidity is well-integrated and blends with a subtly expressed minerality. Aging in oak barrels adds complexity and a slightly toasty dimension, enriching the lingering finish. An authentic expression of a vibrant terroir.

La Garrelière

Loire | France

Domaine de la Garrelière is a family-run vineyard located in Razines in the Touraine region, managed by François and Pascale Plouzeau on a hillside vineyard benefiting from optimal sunshine and a diverse terroir. The estate covers approximately 20 hectares and has cultivated its vines biodynamically since 1993.

He produces red, white, and rosé wines under the Touraine appellation, using natural winemaking methods with indigenous yeasts and minimal intervention. Certain cuvées, such as the Sauvignon or the Gamay "Sans Tralala," illustrate the aromatic typicity and freshness of their terroirs.

The wines of La Garrelière are characterized by their frank expression, their balance and their ability to reflect the identity of the limestone soils and the natural viticultural practices implemented.
