Birichino Winery

Birichino Winery is a California winery founded by Alex Krause and John Locke, two winemakers who cut their teeth working with renowned producers on the West Coast. The project was born out of their desire to showcase old vineyards and cool terroirs.

The grapes come mainly from the Santa Cruz Mountains region and the coastal areas of California, where the maritime influence helps preserve acidity and freshness. The winery works with Mediterranean and European grape varieties suited to these temperate climates.

Birichino's philosophy is based on minimal intervention in winemaking, natural fermentation, and understated aging, with the aim of producing accessible, well-defined wines that are deeply rooted in their terroir.
