Château Beauchêne

Languedoc | France

Located near the town of Orange, under the Provençal sun, Château Beauchêne is a family-owned estate that has been passed down through the generations for over 200 years. While the château dates back to the 15th century, the vineyard truly flourished in the last century with the arrival of the Vergniaud-Bernard family, who come from a long line of winemakers. Now run by Michel and Dominique Bernard, joined by their daughter Amandine—the estate’s 11th generation—the vineyard spans 70 hectares across Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côtes du Rhône Villages, and Côtes du Rhône. Some plots, planted as early as 1901 following the phylloxera crisis, attest to the importance placed on old vines. The work carried out aims for a natural balance between terroir and grape varieties, with particular attention paid to the environment, biodiversity, and soil health. These commitments are now recognized by the High Environmental Value certification, reflecting sustainable viticulture that respects all living things.
