Château Bessan
Overlooking 14 hectares of organically farmed vineyards, Château Bessan is a remarkable 16th-century building now managed by Mathieu Verdier. Taken over by his parents in 1986 when the property was abandoned, the estate was entirely replanted and equipped with a new winery. After ten years dedicated to winemaking, Mathieu took over the estate, introducing new grape varieties such as Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, and reorganizing production and marketing. The estate produces a full range of white, rosé, sparkling, and red wines, deeply rooted in their terroir. Recognizing the exceptional character of the site, he also develops wine tourism with a unique tasting area, "La Cabane dans les Vignes" (The Cabin in the Vines), a viewpoint overlooking the landscape and vineyards. Some wines, such as Le Mascaret, pay homage to the natural phenomena that shape this singular landscape.
