Château Lauduc

Bordeaux | France

Nestled in the Tresses hills, just outside Bordeaux, Château Lauduc is a family estate operated by the Grandeau family since 1923. The estate currently spans approximately 60 hectares within the Entre-deux-Mers region, a sector renowned for its gentle topography, clay-limestone soils, and potential for producing balanced and consistent wines.

The vineyard benefits from an elevated position, promoting excellent natural ventilation and gradual grape ripening. This advantageous location helps maintain the freshness of the wines' balance, particularly in warmer vintages. The vineyard's varietal composition consists of traditional Bordeaux grape varieties, with Merlot playing a central role, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc depending on the specific plots.

The estate is managed according to a structured environmental approach. Certified HVE and committed to transitioning to organic farming since 2019, the vineyard is cultivated with a particular focus on soil management, reducing inputs, and ensuring consistent quality from one vintage to the next. This approach aims to balance production volume with consistency in style.

In the cellar, winemaking is carried out with a focus on precision and clarity. Extraction is carefully controlled to produce supple tannins and an approachable structure, while aging supports the wine’s character without attempting to alter it. Château Lauduc’s wines emphasize balanced profiles, built on crisp fruit, a harmonious palate, and a true expression of their terroir.

The estate thus follows in the tradition of Bordeaux family-run wineries, with a clear commitment to producing consistent, approachable wines that are representative of the Entre-deux-Mers region. It is a reliable estate, deeply rooted in its local area and committed to the gradual evolution of its winemaking practices.
