Château Les Croisille

Located on the hillsides of Luzech, in the Cahors appellation, Château Les Croisille is a family-owned estate founded in 1979 by Bernard and Cécile Croisille. The vineyard, which initially consisted of fallow plots, was gradually brought back into production, with the first harvest taking place in the mid-1980s.

The estate has evolved over time, with its first bottling in the late 1980s, followed by the move into its own cellars in the early 2000s. In 2008, Germain Croisille joined the estate and began the transition to organic farming, culminating in certification two years later. The estate is now a member of the Vignerons de Nature group, which brings together producers committed to practices that respect the terroir.

The vineyard is situated on iron-rich limestone soils, which are particularly well-suited to the expression of Malbec, Cahors’s signature grape variety. Harvesting is increasingly done by hand—a practice still in the minority within the appellation—in order to preserve the integrity of the grapes and to capture the distinct characteristics of each plot.

The winemaking process aims to produce precise, easy-drinking wines, with controlled extraction and aging methods tailored to each cuvée. The Cahors wines from Château Les Croisille are distinguished by their balanced profiles, combining freshness, depth, and a clear expression of the soil. The estate’s overall approach contributes to a renewed dynamic within the appellation, focused on the identity of the terroirs and a more contemporary expression of Malbec.
