Everything You Need to Know About Côtes d'Auxerre
The Côtes d'Auxerre is an appellation in the Yonne department of northern Burgundy, producing white wines made from Chardonnay and red wines made from Pinot Noir on Kimmeridgian soils similar to those found in Chablis.
The whites offer a freshness and chalky minerality very similar to Chablis, with aromas of lemon, green apple, and stone. The reds are light and elegant. A lesser-known appellation at an affordable price for lovers of northern Burgundy-style wines.
