Coume-Lumet

La Coume-Lumet is a Languedoc estate located in the town of Cépie, about ten kilometers from Limoux, in the Aude Valley. Founded in 2012 following the meeting of Luc and Isabelle Abadie, this 54-hectare estate—designated a Natura 2000 site—is nestled in the heart of a small natural cirque: the “coume” in Occitan. The estate’s name alone captures the spirit of the place, combining topography (Coume) and light (Lumet).

A region at the crossroads of two climatic influences

The estate’s geographical location allows the vineyards to benefit from both a Mediterranean climate—which provides warmth and promotes ripeness in grape varieties such as Syrah, Grenache, and Merlot—and a cooler oceanic influence, which is ideal for Chardonnay, Chenin, and Mauzac, the varieties used to make the estate’s Crémant.

Wines that reflect the estate's character

The wines in the Maset de Lumet range are aged exclusively in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures to preserve their freshness and aromas. The Coume-Lumet cuvée, on the other hand, is aged for 9 months in oak barrels. The Crémant, produced using the traditional method, rests on racks for 18 months before disgorgement, resulting in a dry, aromatic wine.
