Château Cazebonne

As in 1900

Vin de France | Red | 2021

This Cazebonne wine is the result of exploring forgotten Bordeaux grape varieties, namely Mancin, Castets, Saint-Macaire, and Petit Verdot. The winemaking process is meticulous, with 18 months of aging, first in amphorae and then in barrels, which allows the grape varieties to express their authentic character. The complexity of this wine, born from a quest for flavors of yesteryear, will satisfy connoisseurs seeking singularity and authenticity.

Our opinion on the vintage

The deep garnet color of this wine hints at a tasting experience full of surprises. On the nose, aromas of candied red fruit mingle with refined nuances from oak aging. On the palate, the balance is remarkable: delicate acidity complements a dense, velvety texture. Ripe, spicy fruit blossoms in a seductive roundness. The finish impresses with its freshness and persistence, showcasing evolving notes from oak aging. This full-bodied and elegant wine will be best appreciated after a few years of cellaring, revealing all the subtlety of its rare grape varieties.

Château Cazebonne

Château Cazebonne

Bordeaux | France

In the Graves appellation, Château Cazebonne is undertaking extensive work on replanting and restoring old Bordeaux grape varieties, in addition to more classic varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This approach aims to explore the historical ampelographic diversity of the region and assess its adaptation to current terroirs.

The vineyard is managed organically, with particular attention paid to soil health and vine balance. In the cellar, winemaking is minimally interventionist, favoring gentle extraction and restrained aging to preserve the fruit's expression and the wine's structure.

The wines are easy to drink and balanced, with precise fruit expression and a smooth texture. The estate's work as a whole offers a fresh and contemporary interpretation of Graves, based on respect for the grape varieties, the terroir, and a measured approach to winemaking.
