Domaine Colombo
Located in the Rhône Valley, Domaine Colombo was founded on Jean-Luc Colombo’s passion for wine and fine dining. With vineyards to the north in Cornas and Saint-Péray, as well as further south near the Côte Bleue, he has been crafting wines that reflect his vision since the late 1980s: precise, authentic, and deeply rooted in their terroir.
Coming from a family background steeped in cooking and the pleasures of the table, Jean-Luc naturally turned to oenology. Together with his wife Anne, he founded the Côtes du Rhône Oenological Center in Cornas, all the while nurturing a dream: to become a winemaker. This project took shape in the early 1980s with the purchase of his first hillside of old vines overlooking Cornas.
In 1987, the first vintage of the estate’s iconic cuvée, Les Ruchets, was released, leaving a lasting mark on Colombo’s identity in Cornas. Over the years, the vineyard has expanded and the approach has become more refined: sustainable viticulture that respects natural balances, dedicated to producing authentic and expressive wines.
Today, passing on the family legacy is at the heart of the project. Laure Colombo, an oenologist and avid traveler, joined the estate in 2010. She brings a fresh perspective and develops her own vintages, such as her Saint-Péray La Belle de Mai, while also embarking on bold collaborations. Domaine Colombo thus embodies a vision of the Rhône that is vibrant, indulgent, and forward-looking, without ever losing sight of its roots.
