Domaine de l'Ecu
Domaine de l'Ecu is located in Le Landreau, in the Nantes region, in the heart of the Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine appellation. The estate was long managed by Guy Bossard, a pioneer of organic viticulture in the region, before being taken over by Fred and Claire Niger.
The vineyard covers approximately twenty hectares and has been managed organically since 1972 and biodynamically since 1998. The viticultural and cellar practices are based on low intervention, fermentations with indigenous yeasts and varied aging, sometimes in amphorae.
The estate is known for its single-vineyard wines that showcase the terroirs of Muscadet, particularly the granite and orthogneiss soils, as well as for its commitment to a living approach.
