Domaine Julien Thurel

Loire | France

Domaine Julien Thurel is a cider farm located on the edge of the Forest of Orléans in the Loiret region, where Julien cultivates organic orchards of apples, pears, quinces, and corm apples to produce ciders, perries, and other fermented beverages typical of the local region.

The estate was founded with a focus on reviving old and forgotten varieties, which Julien grafts, tends, and selects to craft artisanal ciders that undergo natural secondary fermentation in the bottle, using no or very few additives.

The estate’s practices emphasize agroecology, manual work in the orchards, and fermentation using native yeasts, resulting in fruity, well-structured, and expressive wines that reflect the terroir of the Loire Valley and the diversity of traditional grape varieties.
