Learn all about Famille Paux-Rosset

The Paux-Rosset family is behind the revival of Château La Négly, an iconic Languedoc estate located on the Clape massif, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, about twenty kilometers from Narbonne. Taken over in 1992 by Jean Paux-Rosset, the estate is now run by him and his children, Bastien and Marion, with the support of consulting winemaker Claude Gros.

A Career Change in Service of the Local Region

Originally destined for a career in elite equestrian sports, Jean Paux-Rosset took over the family estate in 1992 and embarked on a profound transformation: controlling yields, replanting a large portion of the vineyard, and shifting the focus toward quality winemaking that respects the environment.

An exceptional vineyard on the Clape Massif

The vineyards benefit from a unique clay-limestone terroir, tempered by sea breezes that soften the intensity of the sun and the tramontane wind. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the estate follows a sustainable viticulture approach that respects the soil.

An internationally recognized family success story

In 2001, the family acquired the neighboring estate, Château Rigaud, in the Saint-Chinian appellation. Château La Négly’s wines—such as La Falaise, La Côte, and La Brise Marine—are now acclaimed by international critics, including Robert Parker, who has repeatedly described the estate as a benchmark for the Languedoc region.
