Everything You Need to Know About Maison Marigny

Founded in 2015 by brothersPhilibert and Audoin Lorne, Maison Marigny is a family-owned wine merchant based in Lux, near Chalon-sur-Saône, in the heart of Burgundy. Striking a balance between respect for the great terroirs and a resolutely modern approach, the company’s mission is to offer accessible, distinctive wines that are perfectly suited to the expectations of wine merchants, restaurateurs, and connoisseurs of fine wines.

Unlike a traditional winery that cultivates its own vineyards, Maison Marigny carefully selects the finest grapes and wines from partners located across Burgundy’s major terroirs. This freedom of selection allows it to create cohesive lines of wines, prioritizing quality, consistency, and a faithful expression of each appellation. Each cuvée is designed to reflect the identity of its terroir while showcasing its own distinct personality.

Burgundy naturally remains at the heart of its business. The company specializes in iconic appellations such as Bourgogne Pinot Noir, Bourgogne Chardonnay, Rully, Mercurey, and Crémant de Bourgogne, while also developing various collections tailored to different consumer segments. Among the best known are Les Colombiers, which offers a classic and elegant take on Burgundy appellations, and Liberty of Burgundy, a more contemporary line designed to appeal to a new generation of wine lovers.

Over the years, Maison Marigny has also expanded its portfolio by selecting wines from other major French regions, notably the Rhône Valley, with appellations such as Vacqueyras, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and Côtes-du-Rhône. This diversification allows the company to offer a comprehensive selection to professionals while staying true to its guiding principle: selecting wines with character that are representative of their origin and offer excellent value for the price.

Maison Marigny’s identity is also built on a strong focus on design. Convinced that the wine experience begins before the bottle is even opened, the founders pay special attention to the labels and the visual identity of each line. The contemporary—and at times bold—visuals stand in contrast to traditional Burgundian conventions and reflect a desire to make the great terroirs more accessible and less intimidating.

Today, Maison Marigny continues to expand both in France and internationally, with a strong presence among wine merchants, restaurants, and importers. Its philosophy has remained unchanged since its founding: to offer a modern take on the great French appellations, without ever compromising on quality or respect for the terroirs that have built their reputation.
