Mas d'Agalis

Mas d’Agalis is a winery located in Nébian, in the Hérault region, where Lionel Maurel, a descendant of a long line of winemakers, has been cultivating approximately 8 hectares of traditional Languedoc grape varieties since 2004, such as Carignan, Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre for the reds, and Terret Bourret, Vermentino, Chenin, and Clairette for the whites. The vineyard is situated on terraces dating back to the Villafranchian period, featuring many rounded pebbles, which help produce expressive and distinctive wines.

Work in the vineyard is carried out without the use of chemicals or synthetic products, favoring plowing and organic fertilizers to preserve soil life and enhance the expression of the terroir year after year. The grapes are harvested by hand, and winemaking involves minimal intervention, often limiting the addition of sulfur to the absolute minimum.

The estate’s wines fully reflect the Mediterranean climate and the diversity of the terroir: from structured, fruity reds to aromatic whites, some of which surprise with their freshness and depth, with cuvées such as “Le Grand Carré,” “Navis,” and “Yo no puedo mas” that perfectly illustrate this natural approach.
