Mendall is a natural wine estate located in El Pinell de Brai, in Terra Alta (Catalonia, Spain), run by Laureano Serres, who is considered one of the pioneers of the natural wine movement in his region. After a career in software development, he returned to work the family vineyards and shifted his production toward environmentally friendly practices, without additives or excessive intervention.
On approximately 7 hectares of organically farmed vineyards, Laureano Serres produces natural wines with diverse and sometimes bold profiles, reflecting the unique characteristics of the Mediterranean climate and hand-harvesting. His white and red wines are characterized by a distinctive aromatic profile, often featuring pronounced volatile acidity and a firm tannic structure, making them ideal for pairing with rich dishes.
Mendall’s wines, such as “Abeurador,” “Brutal,” and “Dos Tires,” vary in style from vintage to vintage, reflecting a creative and experimental approach to natural wine that takes into account climatic variations and the spontaneous expression of the grapes.
