Beaujolais Blanc Terre de Loyse 2023

Beaujolais | White | 2023

The Domaine highlights the quality of its old vines (average age 50 years) by modifying its pruning and trellising methods to control yields. By reducing inputs, the vineyard allows the terroir to express itself fully during vinification. With a history dating back to 1601, the Domaine offers an exclusive production of Chardonnay, "La Perle Blanche," grown on white clay and limestone soils in northern Beaujolais, thus offering a unique expression of the terroir.

Our opinion on the vintage

This white wine boasts a brilliant pale gold color. On the nose, delicate floral and fruity aromas emerge. On the palate, notes of grapefruit and passion fruit unfold, offering a sensation that is both supple, tender, and dry. Perfect as an aperitif or with fish and seafood dishes, this wine captivates with its elegance and freshness. Enjoy it now to fully appreciate its youthful character.

Domaines Perrachon et Fils

Beaujolais | France

The Perrachon et Fils estate is a historic vineyard located in Juliénas (69840) since 1877. The Perrachon family has cultivated vines there for several generations, and today Laurent and Martine Perrachon are assisted by their sons, Adrien and Maxime. The estate encompasses several Beaujolais crus, including Juliénas, Morgon, Moulin-à-Vent, Chénas, Fleurie, and Saint-Amour, as well as Beaujolais Villages. Traditional methods are employed, with hand-harvesting and goblet pruning, and yields are intentionally kept low to prioritize quality.

The wines produced cover a range of classic Beaujolais red and rosé wines, as well as a few special cuvées. I couldn't find any precise details on winemaking practices, exact historical dates prior to 1877, or the estate's formal environmental certifications.
