Our opinion on the vintage
Léo Dirringer
Léo Dirringer is an Alsatian winemaker from a family of winemakers who run the Domaine Ruhlmann-Dirringer in Dambach-la-Ville, on the Alsace wine route. After studying oenology in Montpellier and gaining experience in Switzerland, he took over the family estate in 2017, gradually shifting viticulture towards organic farming and natural winemaking.
The vines, spread over approximately 14 hectares of granitic and sandy soils, are planted with traditional Alsatian grape varieties such as Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Auxerrois, grown using organic farming methods.
Léo Dirringer's wines are distinguished by spontaneous fermentations, aging in large oak casks or tanks without oenological additives, and wines that are often unfiltered or without added sulfites. His natural and vibrant wines express great freshness, aromatic finesse, and a strong connection to their terroirs.
