Léo Dirringer is an Alsatian winemaker from a family of winemakers who run the Ruhlmann-Dirringer estate in Dambach-la-Ville, on the Alsace Wine Route. After studying oenology in Montpellier and gaining experience in Switzerland, he took over the family estate in 2017, gradually shifting the vineyard’s practices toward organic farming and natural winemaking.
The vineyards, spread over approximately 14 hectares of granite and sandy soil, are planted with traditional Alsatian grape varieties such as Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and Auxerrois, all grown using organic farming methods.
Léo Dirringer’s wines are distinguished by spontaneous fermentation, aging in large oak casks or tanks without the use of oenological additives, and are often unfiltered or made without added sulfites. His natural, vibrant wines express great freshness, aromatic finesse, and a strong connection to their terroirs.
