Saint-Estèphe

Saint-Estèphe is the northernmost commune of the four major appellations in the Médoc region of Bordeaux. Its clay-rich soils give its wines a distinctive structure, with firmer tannins and more pronounced acidity.

Dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, the wines of Saint-Estèphe are powerful, tannic, and austere in their youth, but reveal themselves to be complex and refined after 10 to 20 years of aging. An appellation for lovers of fine Bordeaux wines meant for aging.
