The estate is located in Maison-Neuve, in the Lussac Saint-Émilion appellation area, northeast of Saint-Émilion in the Bordeaux vineyard. It was established in 1960 and acquired in 2001 by François and Maria-Dolorès Linard, who progressively restructured the vineyard and modernized the winery. The estate covers several plots planted on Fronsadais molasse soils with deep clay and limestone, typical of this wine-growing area.

The estate is managed with limited treatments and environmentally friendly practices, including plowing, leaf removal, green harvesting, and selective sorting in the vat room. The vines are primarily planted with Merlot, supplemented by Cabernet Franc and Malbec for certain cuvées.

The estate produces several wines under the Lussac Saint-Émilion and Montagne Saint-Émilion appellations, such as Château La Claymore, Château La Haute Claymore, Château Grand Barail, Château Moulin de Fontmurée, or the second wine Cadet du Château La Claymore. Winemaking combines traditional techniques and modern controls with controlled macerations and sometimes without added SO₂ during fermentation and maceration. The wines offer varied profiles but remain rooted in the Bordeaux right bank style, with power, roundness, and complexity.
