Vignoble Angst

We are Céline and Antoine, two winemakers in Pontigny, Burgundy. We produce and sell a diverse range of wines. We offer Chablis, Burgundy wines (both white and rosé), Irancy, and also Crémant de Bourgogne. We are passionate about showcasing and expressing the unique character of the Burgundy terroir. Anecdotes about the estate: Located in Pontigny, the emblematic site of our beloved Cistercian Abbey, a listed monument, we welcome our guests to our charming and characterful home. The Cistercian monks played a major role in the development of the vineyards here. We offer visitors the opportunity to combine cultural and oenological exploration through our guided tours of the abbey, followed by a tasting of our wines. The estate's history: We are Céline and Antoine, two winemakers in Pontigny, Burgundy. We produce and sell a diverse range of wines. We offer Chablis and Burgundy wines, both white and rosé, as well as Irancy and Crémant de Bourgogne. We are passionate about showcasing and expressing the unique character of Burgundy's terroir. Our aim is to share this terroir with as many people as possible. The estate is located in Pontigny, in the Yonne department of Burgundy, on the iconic site of the Cistercian Abbey, a listed historical monument. The vines are situated in diverse terroirs between Courgis, Beine, Maligny, and Préhy, villages within the Chablis region, and Chitry, which is part of the Auxerrois wine region, midway between Chablis and Auxerre. The estate's vineyards are therefore spread across several villages. The management of our 9-hectare vineyard is a thoughtful and reasoned approach. All treatments and interventions are overseen by Antoine, who brings extensive experience from his previous work as a viticultural technician. We took over the estate in 2013, thanks to the trust of the previous owners. It was a challenge for us because we don't come from a winemaking family! Learning every day is a valuable life lesson. As we like to tell our customers and visitors to Domaine Angst: "We don't come from winemaking families: we are therefore writing the first pages of our winemaking history, that of the first generation of Angst winemakers." The pride of the estate: Céline and Antoine created Domaine Angst in 2013 within the iconic Cistercian Abbey of L'Yonne. To meet this exciting challenge, they adopted sustainable farming practices to cultivate their 9 hectares and produce wines that showcase the richness of the Burgundy terroir.
