Located in the Sauternes appellation, 45 km southeast of Bordeaux on the left bank of the Garonne, Vignobles Philippe Mercadier comprises three estates covering a total area of 47 hectares. Situated in three of the appellation's five communes, the properties benefit from a wide diversity of terroirs, offering complementary wine profiles that are representative of the richness of Sauternes.

The family history began in 1940, driven by a deep fascination with these iconic lands. The three estates, initially acquired in a state of disrepair, were gradually rebuilt thanks to the vision and audacity of Philippe Mercadier. After managing a Premier Cru Classé estate he had bought from his grandfather for twenty-five years, he successively acquired these properties between 1992 and 2001, with the ambition of restoring their full viticultural identity.

Today, Paul Mercadier, accompanied by his wife Émilie, continues this fundamental work and supports the development of the vineyards. The new generation is committed to preserving the heritage while evolving the style towards a more contemporary interpretation of Sauternes wines, combining precision, balance, and freshness.

This diversity of soils, exposures and microclimates allows Vignobles Philippe Mercadier to offer wines that are both faithful to the tradition of the appellation and open to a modern approach, where the purity of the fruit and the expression of the terroir occupy a central place.
