Our family business is located in Romeny sur Marne, a small village in the heart of the Marne Valley between Charly sur Marne and Château Thierry. For 4 generations, our family has been working on the vineyard, from the vinification to the marketing. Bernard and his son Sébastien put all their energy into their work, in love with their vines and passionate about their wines.
Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay make up our different vintages. The Chardonnay will be matured in French oak barrels for 6 months before being bottled, in order to flatter your taste buds. We work our vines in reasoned culture, in the respect of the environment, we are in the course of certification HVE.
Over the past 7 years, we have halved our previous sulfite doses in the vat room. This is very important for our customers, who are more and more sensitive to their use.
At the 2013 harvest, having already reduced to a minimum our doses of sulphites in our traditional vintages, we are launching, together with our oenological institute, the creation of a new "no added sulphur" vintage. The resulting champagne is very pure and very aromatic and was awarded a gold medal at the 2017 Independent Winegrowers' Awards.
We obtain the Silver medal in 2016 at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles with our Champagne Bernard BIJOTAT Brut. In 2018, at the Concours Général Agricole, the jury awarded the Gold Medal to Champagne Bernard BIJOTAT brut. An additional award which makes the pride of the house and which comes in parallel to establish the quality of our Champagne.
Determined, patient and inventive, Bernard and Sébastien are the guarantors of the House's signature. The very young 5th Generation is represented by Clément and Valentin BIJOTAT. They have always been immersed in this family spirit on a daily basis, perhaps they will be future winegrowers...
