" In 1987, on the birth of his granddaughter Elise, Materne created a cuvée in her name. He kept only 400 bottles of this cuvée. This year, at harvest time, we opened one of these precious treasures, in the company of the grape-pickers, in the middle of the vines ... A real marvel."
The domain's short story
Our winery, one of whose buildings dates back to 1616, produces all 7 Alsatian grape varieties, Crémants since 1975, original blends since 2015, and Pinot Noirs in barrels from the best terroirs (30% of the estate's vines). Our vineyards are located between Bergholtz (Grand Cru SPIEGEL), Orschwihr (Bollenberg, Lippelsberg and Grand Cru PFINGSTBERG), Westhalten (Grand Cru ZINNKOEPFLE) and Rouffach (Hohnacker). The diversity of the soils and their understanding, the different work carried out in the vineyards with respect for the plant and the biotope, and a minimally intrusive vinification process, give our wines strong personalities. Thanks to this wealth of terroirs, we're proud of our fresh, easy-drinking wines, as well as our grand crus with great ageing potential.

Today, mother and daughter Régine and Elise, the 4th and 5th generations, manage the estate with respect for the vines and the living world. The estate has been certified organic since 2022.
