Jonquères d'Oriola is not only wine, it is also olive oil! The family has been awarded national and even international prizes for the quality of its olive oils. Your visit to the estate will therefore not stop at a tasting of their wines, but will also include a tasting of their oils. You can stroll around the plantation run by Organic Farming, which houses the 6,000 olive trees!

The domain's short story

Since 1485, the Jonquères d'Oriola family has been producing subtle wines at Château de Corneilla del Vercol. The château is a recognized cultural and historical landmark of Catalan heritage. We produce our wines from 6 appellations in 21 cuvées: reds, rosés, whites and vins doux naturels.Here, we love challenges and horses: in the family, sport holds a central place. It was Joseph Jonquères d'Oriola (Philippe's grandfather) who pioneered the sport, winning world championships and Olympic gold medals in the 1920s (Helsinki 1952 and Tokyo 1964). He was voted Best Calavier of the last century. His cousin, Christian d'Oriola, shines in fencing, winning 4 Olympic gold medals and 8 world championship titles. This DNA guides the family in our day-to-day work and explains their victories in the greatest international wine competitions.

The winemaker's pride

Situated 5 kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea, the vineyard benefits from great exposure to the sun: excellent for the ripening of our grapes. The influence of cool nights from the Pyrenean mountains gives a perfect balance to our wines.The Terroir des Aspres is unique: it is clayey-stony on "Quaternary Terrasses". Today, our Terroir and our work philosophy come together to produce wines that are among the best and most representative of Roussillon. We pay particular attention to our vineyards in order to preserve them, to offer them the best conditions to reveal themselves, but above all with a sustainable vision that respects the environment.
