For several centuries, the Knees have been winegrowers. It is not only the land that they transmit to each other but the vine as a vocation, a reason for being, a priesthood. The estate is composed of 12 hectares of vines mainly in Arbin Mondeuse but also in Bergeron, Rousettes de Savoie, Apremont and Saint Jean de la Porte. The entire vineyard is biodynamically managed.
Our vineyard is located in Arbin, on the slopes of the Savoyarde at the foot of the Bauges massif. Our clay-limestone soil with a south and south-east orientation has been perfectly suited to vine growing for many generations. Our speciality? La Mondeuse, a red wine of great finesse and typically Savoyard, is a method that goes further than excluding chemicals and pesticides. It is a work of caring for the earth as a living being connected to the cosmos.
Domaine Genoux is a family vineyard where several generations meet and where knowledge is passed on from father to son. "Believing in one's terroir, having faith in what one does and giving emotion to those who taste the precious beverage that I can offer. I'd be too presumptuous if I said I wanted to make them dream." Daniel Genoux.
A natural wine is a living wine marked by its terroir, the one that made it, as well as the climate.
