Anecdotes about the domain

"I had been itching for a long time but one morning when I was taking the RER to go to work in La Défense ... I knew it wasn't for me. I quit my job, started studying oenology with the aim of taking over the domain and it's been done for 5 years. Today I am happy in my vineyards and in love with my terroir and my beautiful Touraine. "My greatest pleasure: working my vines, creating great wines every year and telling myself that I made the right choice..."

The domain's short story

Located in the heart of the Vouvray appellation, the vineyard started in 1888 with the acquisition of the Château by the de Saint Venant family. Today, the Château is renowned for its gardens and wines, which have been given a new lease of life by Jean's father, Aymar, Comte de Saint Venant. Jean has been perpetuating the family tradition for 5 years now.

The winemaker's pride

In the heart of the Loire Valley, you can discover a green setting on the circuit of the Loire castles, the Chateau de Valmer, a marvel of the Italian Renaissance where the wines of Vouvray are happily married but also an exceptional garden. In the family since 1888, the Chateau de Valmer wine estate is a jewel, as much for its sumptuous French gardens as for its particular terroir of stony hillsides. Jean resumed his studies in oenology... And in 2010, he realizes his dream: to take over the family estate. Today, Jean makes it a point of honor to influence the natural interactions between the vine and the terroir as little as possible, in order to encourage exchanges between animal and plant species! Whether dry, semi-dry, sweet or sparkling, there is always a bottle of Château de Valmer to satisfy all your desires, for your friends but also for your family.
