The vineyard of Château HAUT PEYCHEZ is located in the heart of the appellation, in the commune of FRONSAC. this family vineyard (4 HA) for several generations (1853) is on a limestone plateau with 90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc. I also make a selection in Fronsac 100% merlot harvested manually. Then comes the last born, the castle VIEUX MOULEYRE 80% merlot, 10% cabernet franc and 10% cabernet sauvignon and on old vine (80 years). We practice the thinning out of leaves on both sides dices the formation of seeds and the green harvest, in order to control the returns.Fermentations are done only in cement vats with temperature control, pre-fermentation cold maceration and post-fermentation maceration of several days (depending on the year).our wines are then aged in French oak barrels for 12 months (with 10% new barrels) and then stored in our cellars after bottling for 1 to 2 years.
My name is Eric, I'm in charge of the vineyard since 2009.from my childhood with my great grandfather Frederic I discovered the world of winegrowers.then Marcelin my grandfather, Christian my dad taught me to raise the grapes until their maturity to make a good wine.My greatest happiness is to maintain the exploitation, today certified HVE, in the spirit which was taught to me (respect of the nature, sharing, user-friendliness). For a few years recognized on the guide Hachette, contest of the independent wine growers, international contest of Lyon.
I make a wine of a winemaker who loves his grapes. We find in my wines the characteristics of the vintage.
