Château magdeleine Bouhou

Château Magdeleine Bouhou, located in the heart of the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, has been certified in Organic Agriculture since 2022. Our grape varieties are evolving with the recent planting of atypical white grapes for our region such as Chardonnay and Roussanne, which complement our Malbec, Merlot and Cabernets.
At the domain we like to innovate and experiment through the vinifications or the containers we use to produce rather original vintages: Amphora, Blanc de Noir, Solera, mono-varietals without added sulfur and of course our traditional blends.

Our story

Andrew EAKIN, took over Château Magdeleine Bouhou in 2021, in order to perpetuate the family tradition of this vineyard and to continue the efforts already made to make this small vineyard a flagship of Right Bank wines. A former independent wine merchant in London, he settled 6 years ago at Château Puynard, a small 15-hectare organic estate located just a few steps from Château Magdeleine Bouhou.
Seduced by this magnificent terroir of limestone outcrops, he has committed himself to continue the work undertaken in the vineyard and the winery and to bring new exciting projects, starting with the installation of a micro-distillery in the Magdeleine Bouhou cellars, the planting of white grape varieties or the development of wine tourism on the estate with the construction of a gîte.
