Anecdotes about the domain
At the domain, we are in love with nature: we have created a 6 kilometers long wine path. It's an organic and ecological hike in the middle of the vineyards, with breathtaking views! You can enjoy a natural swimming pool or the restaurant where the chef concocts small southern dishes to fall on the ground.
The domain's short story
The Gaussorgues family has been cultivating, maintaining and developing this beautiful Languedoc estate since 1896. It is Roger's great-grandmother, Marie, who inherited the estate. At the beginning of the 1900s, she was working with silk, but France was going through a great crisis and Marie had the mulberry trees uprooted, as well as the silkworms' feeder tree. She decided to plant 60 hectares of vines and built a cellar in the family home. In 1925, her son André took over the reins and developed the techniques and sales/distribution channels for his wines. Almost 50 years later, Jean, one of his sons, became a pioneer and started receiving visitors at the estate. He also develops several tourist activities on the banks of the Hérault. Roger, watching his uncle Jean at work, became passionate about the business and took up the torch in his turn.
The winemaker's pride
We are located in the Hérault, in Brissac at the foot of the Séranne. We cultivate a vineyard of 12 hectares in complete harmony with our land. Here, we are nature lovers and we treat it accordingly! Carole and Roger Gaussorgues are involved in the development of the estate, as were the 4 generations that preceded them, and are bringing the estate up to date by getting involved in a qualitative approach to environmental protection. Since 1999, our wines are certified organic and without added sulfite. Grenache, Carignan and Syrah grape varieties are grown side by side in the rows of vines and make up the wines of the Languedoc organic estate, as we like to describe ourselves. We offer a dozen vintages to lovers of southern wines and also a grape juice.
