Anecdotes about the domain
At the estate, we are in love with Gamay. If most of the Beaujolais vineyard is planted with Gamay, here we only cultivate this grape variety! With the latter, it is possible to produce white, red, rosé and crémant wines. We do the proof!
The domain's short story
This domain has always been managed in a family way. Since the 18th century, different families have maintained and developed the 11 hectares of vines planted on the hills of the Hameau des Labourons. Over the years, the winegrowers have continued to innovate in the vineyard and the wine lovers of the Domaine de la Bouronière have noticed this. Since 1992, the estate has been part of the Beaujolais "maturation network". In 2001, the estate took a major step forward by starting to plant grass in the rows of vines that allow it. The goal? To be able to welcome natural protectors in the vineyard. The winegrowers continue their fight for the respect of the environment in 2002 with the subsoiling of certain plots. The whole family is finally rewarded when it receives in 2005 the Terra Vitis certification which congratulates the winegrowers invested in sustainable agriculture.
The winemaker's pride
Our vineyard is located in the middle of the hills overlooking the village of Fleurie. We cultivate and develop a beautiful vineyard of 11 hectares anchored on a granite sand terroir. On the gentle slopes where the vines are planted, the sunshine is ideal. We conduct our vineyard in the pure respect of the ecosystems which are present here: the plants but also the animals! The harvest is done entirely by hand to obtain the best quality grapes, which earned us Terra Vitis certification in 2005. Very recently, we have obtained the label High Environmental Value level 3 (HVE3). We propose to Beaujolais lovers two red wines in the Fleurie appellation. Our white wine is in the Beaujolais Villages appellation and we also make a Crémant de Bourgogne.
