Our story

With an unfailing tenacity, a strong character, with his wife and family without whom nothing would have been possible, Maurice Martin settled in Davayé and then devoted himself fully to the vineyard from 1969 onwards. The family estate has grown progressively and currently comprises a unique ensemble of almost 60 plots, averaging around 40 years old and located on all the slopes of the village. Richard and Stéphane Martin, two of his sons, took over the estate in the 1990s. Stéphane, in charge of the vineyard, reveals the terroirs to take them to the top of the Saint-Véran appellation. At Richard's instigation, a new winery was built in 1999. Beyond their functional characteristics, the buildings are integrated into their environment at the entrance to the village, inspired by the traditional architecture of the Mâconnais: the courtyard is open to the east, the roofs are covered with round Roman tiles, the Mâconnais gallery overlooks the entrance to the cellar... The memory of the Domaine de la Croix Senaillet is patiently built up over the years.
