Richard et Stéphane Martin

With a tenacity and a strong character, with his wife and family without whom nothing would have been possible, Maurice Martin settled in Davayé and then devoted himself fully to the vineyard from 1969 onwards. The family property has grown progressively and currently includes a unique group of almost 60 parcels, on average about 40 years old and located on all the hillsides of the village. Richard and Stéphane Martin, two of his sons, took over the Domaine in the 1990s. They brought in new blood and new ideas, with a single watchword: quality. Stéphane, in charge of the vineyards, revealed the terroirs to bring them to the top of the Saint-Véran appellation. Under Richard's leadership, a new winery was built in 1999. Beyond their functional character, the buildings are integrated into their environment at the entrance of the village, inspired by the traditional architecture of the Mâconnais: the courtyard is open to the east, the roofs are covered with round Roman tiles, the Mâconnais gallery overhangs the entrance of the cellar. The memory of the Domaine de la Croix Senaillet is built patiently over the years.
