Our domain is located in Sernhac, near the Pont du Gard. Vineyard of the Rhone Valley, we produce AOP Costières de Nîmes and IGP Pont du Gard. It extends over approximately 40 hectares around our cellar. We are certified High Environmental Value, to guarantee work aimed at preserving the environment and the natural character of our wines. We grow our Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Mourvèdre on a soil composed of rolled pebbles, so typical of the region.
At the place called Poulvarels, we work on a gravelly soil the grape varieties that give all the fruit to our wines: Sauvignon, Cabernet and Merlot.
Elisabeth and Pascal Glas, accompanied by their daughters, took over the estate in 2004. Together they took up the daring challenge of restoring the estate's reputation and reviving the vineyard. After rehabilitating the vineyard, they built a cellar of contemporary architecture, designed with Pont du Gard stones and modern cladding to allow optimal temperature for maturing and conservation.
Since then, the wines of Domaine de Poulvarel have not ceased to be cited by the specialised press and awarded prizes in international competitions. It was indeed Pascal who passed on to Elisabeth his passion for the vine and they continue today to develop the vineyard and the marketing of their vintages.
Here, it is not possible to dissociate the domain of Pascal and Elisabeth. Since their association in 2004, they have been working together, in the same way to get the best out of their vineyard's soils.
