Did you know that in reality Brouilly and the Côte de Brouilly are two distinct vintages? We strive to enhance these 2 completely different terroirs, and for this we use the traditional Beaujolais winemaking method that allows us to sublimate them. Since 1947, our family has been living in St LAGER in the heart of the Beaujolais vintages for 3 generations.Lire plus Learn more
The estate has been located in St Lager, in the heart of the Beaujolais vintages, since 1947. We took over the family estate in 2015, we are the 3rd generation.
The estate extends over only 7 hectares and focuses solely on the production of 2 crus, Brouilly and Côte de Brouilly. All our vines are exposed to the slopes on the south-east side of the Brouilly mountain. They thus benefit from a privileged sunshine which gives our wines an exceptional
richness in aroma.
Our wines are made from a single grape variety, Gamay noir with white juice, and the grapes are harvested exclusively by hand.
My background is a little atypical, although I come from the agricultural sector, but further west in the Beaujolais region, I first work in agricultural and forestry work. I discovered the job later on after meeting my wife. Since 2002, I have been harvesting the grapes and have been passionate about working the vines. My father-in-law always said to his daughter: "You have to bring back one who knows how to drive a tractor", that's how I started and since then I've been passionate about this beautiful profession.
To be a winegrower is to love working with nature, discovering the senses to make the best wine and human contact during marketing. This is the one I am beginning to discover with great pleasure, to make people smile by making them travel through my wine and I am delighted every day more and more... Currently most of the estates are racing for the number of hectares and the multiplication of appellations. Contrary to this current trend, we want to concentrate on limited surfaces in order to work them as well as possible and concentrate on 2 appellations in order to perfectly control their typicity. Many people do not know that there are 2 distinct vintages: Brouilly and Côte de Brouilly. We strive to enhance these 2 completely different terroirs, and for this, we use the traditional Beaujolais winemaking method that allows us to sublimate them.
