The domain's short story
The etymology of the word Gravennes is Gar which means "stony place". The white grape varieties (white grenache, marsanne, roussane and viogner), typical of the Rhone valley, are planted on sandy soils which bring finesse and freshness to white wines. It is on this very particular terroir which is composed of a mixture of alluvial, sandy and stony soils that the Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre vines produce fine, round and structured red wines. For the past 3 years, the Domaine des Gravennes has welcomed its fourth generation of winemakers with Luc and Rémi. Luc is the younger of the two brothers. He came back to the domain in 2011 after having enriched himself with human and viticultural experiences in the 4 corners of the world. The older brother, Rémi, left his life as an engineer in Paris to return to the land of his childhood. Together, they perpetuate a family history in the respect of common values: protection of the terroir and its environment, conviviality, constant search for balance and elegance.
