The Domaine des Gravennes is located in the heart of the Provençal Drôme under the protective gaze of the Château de Suze la Rousse. The etymology of the word Gravennes is Gar which means "stony place". The white grape varieties (white grenache, marsanne, roussane and viogner), typical of the Rhône valley, are planted on sandy soils that give the white wines finesse and freshness.
It is on this very special terroir, which is composed of a mixture of alluvial, sandy and stony soils, that the Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre vines produce fine, round and structured red wines.
For the past 3 years, Domaine des Gravennes has welcomed at its head its fourth generation of winegrowers with Luc and Rémi. Luc is the younger of the two brothers. He returned to the estate in 2011 after having been enriched by human and viticultural experiences from all over the world.
The older brother, Rémi, left his Parisian life as an engineer to return to the lands of his childhood. Together, they perpetuate a family history that respects common values: protection of the terroir and its environment, conviviality, and a constant search for balance and elegance.
For Rémi and Luc, being a winegrower means making the most of the land to bring pleasure and conviviality.
Luc's best memory related to wine is during a tasting of a 2011 Échezeaux with his friend Vincent from Domaine Gros Frère et Sœur.
