Anecdotes about the domain
Four generations have succeeded one another in building the identity of the Montaude estate. Joseph, the great-grandfather, arrived in France, fleeing the Spanish dictatorship. He worked as a cellar master for a château in the commune, and then quickly managed to buy a parcel of vines. The grandfather, Gaultier, began the development of the estate with the help of his son, Philippe, by buying the vineyards of the then bankrupt château. Today, Philippe and his wife Patricia have a vineyard of about 100 hectares, including 9 hectares dedicated to the Montaude estate. It is now the turn of the fourth generation, the grandson Thomas, to take part in this wonderful family adventure, by taking the turn of the digital and the export of the wines of the family vineyard.

The domain's short story
We are a family of winegrowers who have inherited the ancestral and traditional know-how of our forefathers. In our turn, we try to develop our domain by turning towards the future and the new practices in viticulture. Our strength? To share our life as a winemaker and our entire universe with each of our customers. We will soon open a place dedicated to wine tourism within our estate.
The winemaker's pride
Domaine Montaude is located in the commune of Roquecourbe-Minervois. Its vineyard of 9 hectares of vines extends on the hillsides in soft slopes and the terraces of the balconies of the Aude. With a traditional grape variety, composed of Carignan, Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault in old vines, as well as Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, the vineyard produces AOP Minervois wines and Vins de Pays. Attached to the respect of the environment and their terroir, the Montaude estate practices a reasoned culture, and has committed itself since 2019 in a BIO conversion, putting into practice the principles of organic farming. It is with pleasure that the ESCOÏ family will welcome you in their cellar in the center of the village where you will be able to taste their various vintages and to discover the old wine storehouses whose tanks, built in stone of size, have walls and vaults reaching 1m45 of thickness.
