The domain's short story

The Little Story The Domaine Le Petit Eden started with plots of vines doomed to oblivion, and a ruin Marmonier press of 1930 refurbished for the harvest of 2015. The vineyard plots are scattered throughout the commune of Calce and Baixas, the land of the Tramontane which blows without mercy. Most of the old vines were waiting for the premium for uprooting to be renewed. With the family spirit and an attentive and instinctive work, thanks to the help of my brother James and all the family we were able to advance the domain with a natural direction towards the beautiful Gastronomic table and on and relaxed that the work carried out would be up to the height no matter where my bottles end up! A way of working that expresses a certain tradition, expression of the land and idea of wine! Our children who run and play in our vineyards, so no pesticides or synthetic weed killers are used, nothing that could make them sick or harm nature. Not to mention the wine drinkers! The bottling is done by us by hand, bottle by bottle, cork by cork. The labels are printed here, cut and glued one by one by hand. The vinification is done in stainless steel tanks, which we have to keep scrupulously clean, which allows us to use very little sulfites mainly just before bottling. Today we have 3 hectares and a production of 2000 to 5000 bottles when the sky allows it. Description of the Domaine. Created in 2015. Harvest. 1st Anne 6cuvee different. The diversio. The winemaker's pride

My 3 hectares of vineyards are located in Calce and Baixas (66) not far from Perpignan in the Roussillon. The grape varieties are Grenache Noir, Gris and Blanc. Syrah, Macabeo and Muscat Petit Grain. The vines are between 40 and 90 years old, on hillsides, with very small yields of 8 to 15 hecto/hectare typical of Calce. The grapes are harvested by hand and in 25 kg crates. The soil is very varied geologically, limestone, schist, marl. With 8 parcels sometimes joined together that we vinify in "parcel" and in indigenous yeasts so that the soil can express itself in our wines. Consequently, our micro-cuvées (never more than 1000 bottles) are very different from each other. No synthetic weed killers, pesticides or antifungal agents are used here. Grass is controlled by cultivating the soil with a shallow "Canadian" plow and weeding is natural. We do not sow plants either, the balance of the biotope is a fragile balance that must be respected and not upset with a monoculture lawn. We use mainly droppings from an organic farm as a nitrogen contribution. We are in "Vin de France" and we are not certified.
