(66) Pyrénées-Orientales

My 3 hectares of vines are located in Calce and Baixas (66) not far from Perpignan in Roussillon. The grape varieties are Grenache Noir, Gris and Blanc. Syrah, Macabeo and Muscat Petit Grain. The vines are 40 to 90 years old, on hillsides, with very small yields of 8 to 15 hectolitres/hectare, typical of Calce. Harvesting is manual and in 25 kg crates. The soil is very varied geologically, with limestone, schists and marl. With 8 parcels sometimes joined together, we vinify them into "parcels" and indigenous yeasts so that the terroir can be expressed in our wines. As a result, our micro vintages (never more than 1000 bottles) are very different from each other.

No synthetic weedkiller, pesticide or antifungal agent here. Grass is controlled by cultivating the soil with a "Canadian" shallow plough and grassing is natural. No plant seedlings either in our country, the balance of the biotope is a fragile balance that must be respected and not jostled with a monoculture lawn. We mainly use droppings from an organic farm as nitrogen input. We are in "Vin de France" and we are not certified.

Our story

La Petite Histoire Le Domaine Le Petit Eden started with plots of vines destined to be forgotten, and a 1930 Marmonier ruin press will be rebuilt for the 2015 harvest. The parcels of vines are scattered throughout the commune of Calce and Baixas, the land of the Tramontane which blows mercilessly. Most of the old vines were waiting for the grubbing-up premium to be renewed.

With the family spirit and, of an attentive and instinctive work ,Thanks to the help of my brother James and the whole family we were able to advance the estate with a direction naturally towards the beautiful Gastronomic table and safe and relax that the work would be to the height no matter where my bottles end! A way of working that expresses a certain tradition, expression of the terroir and the idea of wine! Our children who run and play in our vineyards, so no synthetic pesticides or herbicides are used, nothing that could make them sick or harm nature. Not to mention the wine drinkers! the bottling is done by us by hand, bottle by bottle, cork by cork. The labels are printed here, cut and glued one by one by hand. The vinification is done in stainless steel tanks, which must be kept scrupulously clean, which allows us to use very little sulphites mainly just before the setting. Today we have 3 hectares and a production of 2000 to 5000 bottles when the sky allows it.
