Champagne Bertrand-Delespierre
Located in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, in the village of Chamery, Champagne Bertrand-Delespierre was founded in 1980 by our parents, Chantal and Didier Bertrand, both the daughter and son of winemakers. Two generations now work side by side at the estate, as Adrien and Clémence are determined to carry on their family’s winemaking tradition. The family works nearly 10 hectares of family-owned vineyards located in the communes of Chamery, Ecueil, Villedommange, and Montbré—four villages among the 44 classified as Premier Crus in Champagne. The three main Champagne grape varieties are grown within the vineyard: two red varieties—Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier—and one white variety—Chardonnay. Yet all yield a white juice when pressed at home using the traditional press. Burgundy and Champagne barrels are used for the fermentation and aging of certain wines. Like his grandfather and father, Adrien has a particular fondness for 600-liter demi-muids. A tradition passed down through the men of the family... In recent years, Didier has replaced his blended rosé with a Rosé de Saignée, made exclusively from Pinot Noir using grapes carefully selected during harvest. This unique wine undergoes skin maceration for several hours, followed by fermentation and aging in oak barrels, which give it both rich aromas and power. A rarity you absolutely must discover! The estate takes great care of its vines and grapes, constantly improving its production tools and working methods, always with the goal of respecting the environment as much as possible and ensuring that this pursuit of excellence results in high-quality champagnes that are pure pleasure. "As independent winemakers, we manage every stage of production at the estate, from cultivating our vines to bottling and marketing our wines. We would be delighted to show you our traditional wine press, the fermentation room, and our cellars when you visit Chamery!"
