Champagne Bertrand-Delespierre

Champagne

Located in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, in the village of Chamery, Champagne Bertrand-Delespierre was founded in 1980 by our parents, Chantal and Didier Bertrand, both children of winemakers. Two generations now work side-by-side on the estate, as Adrien and Clémence are determined to perpetuate their family's winemaking tradition. The family cultivates nearly 10 hectares of family vineyards located in the communes of Chamery, Ecueil, Villedommange, and Montbré, four of the 44 Premier Cru villages in Champagne. The three main Champagne grape varieties are grown in the vineyard: two red varieties, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, and one white variety, Chardonnay. All three, however, yield white juice when pressed at the estate using the traditional press. Burgundy and Champagne barrels are used for the fermentation and aging of some of the wines. Like his grandfather and father, Adrien has a particular fondness for demi-muids, which hold 600 liters. It's a family tradition... For the past few years, Didier has replaced his blended rosé with a Rosé de Saignée, made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes carefully selected during the harvest. This unique wine benefits from several hours of skin maceration, fermentation, and aging in oak barrels, which impart both aromas and power. A rare find that you absolutely must discover! The estate is dedicated to caring for its vines and grapes, constantly improving its production tools and working methods, always with the aim of respecting the environment as much as possible. This pursuit of excellence results in champagnes of exceptional quality and pure pleasure. "As independent winemakers, we manage all stages of production on the estate, from cultivating our vines to marketing the bottles. We would be delighted to show you our traditional press, the winery and our cellars when your travels take you to Chamery!"
