Champagne Bertrand-Delespierre

Champagne Origines Croisées Extra Brut 2013

Champagne | White | 2013

This Extra Brut cuvée from Champagne Bertrand Delespierre is the result of a skillful blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay, grown on Premier Cru vineyards. The winemaking process, including partial fermentation in demi-muids without malolactic fermentation, gives this champagne a unique structure. Four years of aging on fine lees further enhances the wine's complexity. With a dosage of 6 g/l, it harmoniously combines finesse and roundness, creating an exceptional balance.

Our opinion on the vintage

From the first glance, this champagne captivates with its pale, brilliant gold hue. On the nose, it reveals a wealth of fresh, citrusy notes, mingled with aromas of roasted apple and toasted brioche. On the palate, elegance reigns supreme with a long, enveloping texture. The delicate yet essential bubbles provide a refreshing burst of crispness. The subtly bitter and slightly astringent finish prolongs the tasting experience with saline and toasty nuances, revealing the full character of the Pinot Noir grapes. Pure magic for the senses.

Champagne | France

Located in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, in the village of Chamery, Champagne Bertrand-Delespierre was founded in 1980 by our parents, Chantal and Didier Bertrand, both children of winemakers. Two generations now work side-by-side on the estate, as Adrien and Clémence are determined to perpetuate their family's winemaking tradition. The family cultivates nearly 10 hectares of family vineyards located in the communes of Chamery, Ecueil, Villedommange, and Montbré, four of the 44 Premier Cru villages in Champagne. The three main Champagne grape varieties are grown in the vineyard: two red varieties, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, and one white variety, Chardonnay. All three, however, yield white juice when pressed at the estate using the traditional press. Burgundy and Champagne barrels are used for the fermentation and aging of some of the wines. Like his grandfather and father, Adrien has a particular fondness for demi-muids, which hold 600 liters. ... Lire plus
