Chateau de l'Amiral
Château de l'Amiral is a wine estate located in Aigues-Vives, in the Aude department, in the heart of the Minervois AOP appellation in the Languedoc region. Situated on the Laure-Minervois plateau, the property is renowned for its historic buildings and its winemaking organization, typical of the great estates of the 19th century.
The estate produces a range of red, white, and rosé wines typical of the Minervois region, as well as IGP Pays d'Oc wines, made from grape varieties adapted to the diverse terroirs of the commune. Among the grape varieties cultivated are Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan for the reds and rosés, and Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, and Marsanne for the whites.
The terroir of Château de l'Amiral is based on a juxtaposition of varied soils, gravelly conglomerates, sandy sandstone and clayey marls, which influence the depth and texture of the wines, contributing to their aromatic complexity and qualitative expression.
