Château de Nages - Famille Gassier

Located in the southern Rhône Valley, Château de Nages, run by the Gassier family, is situated in the Costières de Nîmes region. The estate is managed by Michel Gassier, a fourth-generation member of the family, who took over its full-time management in the early 1990s.

The vineyard has been farmed organically for many years, with a focus on soil conservation, vine health, and consistent ripening. The plots are situated on terroirs of rounded pebbles and deep soils—characteristic of the region—which produce structured yet balanced wines.

In recent years, the estate has been gradually transitioning toward regenerative farming practices, with the aim of improving soil fertility and biodiversity. This approach is based in particular on minimizing tillage, establishing cover crops, diversifying crops, and occasionally introducing animals into the vineyards. This transition is part of a long-term vision focused on the vineyard’s resilience.

The winemaking process aims to preserve the distinct character of the Mediterranean grape varieties and the expression of the terroirs, through controlled extraction and aging methods tailored to the desired profiles. The entire range offers a structured and consistent interpretation of the Costières de Nîmes, combining maturity, freshness, and precision.

Isabel Gassier joined the estate in 2022, helping to drive this shift in farming practices and ensuring the family business continues to thrive.
