Domaine du Cros
Perched on a promontory overlooking the Garonne Valley, Château du Cros enjoys a rare location at the crossroads of the great sweet wine terroirs of the right bank. The Boyer family, owners since the early 20th century, has patiently rebuilt and replanted the vineyard, opting for a variety of styles: sweet wines, dry whites, and reds.
The estate is situated on clay-limestone soils that are well-suited to Cabernet Sauvignon, which produces refined, precise reds here, focused on fruit and freshness rather than power. A carefully tended, century-old one-hectare plot adds extra depth to certain vintages, without ever weighing down the style.
When it comes to sweet wines, the altitude and exposure promote slow ripening and a well-balanced profile. The wines prioritize finesse and clarity over ostentation, with well-integrated sugars and clean finishes. Through its various estates, the Boyer family offers a coherent and classic interpretation of the Loupiac, Graves, and Cadillac appellations—rooted in history yet resolutely focused on precision.
