Founded in 2004 by François Dauvergne and Jean-François Ranvier, Dauvergne & Ranvier has established itself as one of the most dynamic producers in the Rhône Valley. Their approach is unique: rather than limiting themselves to a single estate, they carefully select the best plots from partner winemakers to craft wines that remain true to each terroir.
An adventure born of a passion for wine
The story of Dauvergne & Ranvier is that of two enthusiasts with complementary backgrounds. François Dauvergne, a wine trade specialist, and Jean-François Ranvier, a trained oenologist and geologist, share the same conviction: great wines are born first and foremost from the quality of the terroirs and the work of the people. For more than twenty years, they have been traveling through the vineyards to identify the finest plots and reveal their potential through precise and accessible wines.

From Côte-Rôtie to Luberon, including Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Tavel, Lirac, and the Côtes-du-Rhône, Dauvergne & Ranvier works with many of the Rhône’s iconic appellations. Their blends often highlight the region’s historic grape varieties, such as Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Viognier.
The winery's style is characterized by its richness, aromatic precision, and freshness. The winemaking process generally involves minimal intervention in order to preserve the natural expression of the fruit and the terroir.
A Committed Approach
Over the years, Dauvergne & Ranvier has strengthened its commitment to more environmentally friendly viticulture. Many of its wines are now certified organic, and the estate in Tavel and Lirac has been farmed organically since 2021.
