Domaine Olivier

Located in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, in the heart of the Touraine wine region, Domaine Olivier is a family business that has been passed down since 1959. Founded by Bernard Olivier with just 1.5 hectares of vineyards, the estate has gradually expanded and now spans 75 hectares spread across Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, Bourgueil, and Anjou. Since the 1980s, Patrick Olivier has guided this evolution before, in turn, passing the reins of the estate to his children Florian, Marina, and Marie.

Committed to the diversity of the Loire Valley’s terroirs, the Olivier family produces a range of wines that highlight the different expressions of Cabernet Franc. Whether sandy and gravelly, clay-limestone, or terroirs richer in limestone, each plot lends its own unique character to the wines. This pursuit of precision in expressing the terroirs is the guiding principle of the estate.

The vineyard is also in the process of converting to organic farming, a process that began in 2018. By 2021, 17 hectares were already being farmed organically in the Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil and Bourgueil appellations. Today, Florian, Marina, and Marie Olivier continue to develop the vineyard with a clear mission: to preserve the terroirs, keep the family’s expertise alive, and ensure the estate is passed on to future generations.
