Hauller Family
Based in Dambach-la-Ville, Alsace, the Hauller family has a long history, documented since the 18th century. Long recognized for their cooperage expertise, the family produced large Alsatian casks for several generations before definitively shifting their focus to winemaking in the mid-20th century.
In 1960, Louis Hauller committed the estate to producing Alsatian wines, with a clear focus on elegance, expressive grape varieties, and precise balance. This direction marked a lasting turning point in the estate's identity, now carried on by Ludovic and Guillaume Hauller, representing the twelfth generation of the family.
The work is divided between the vineyard and the winemaking process. The plots are carefully tended to obtain ripe yet balanced grapes, with respect for the soil and natural rhythms. Alsatian grape varieties, and Riesling in particular, play a central role in the blend, with a constant focus on freshness and aromatic clarity.
In the cellar, winemaking aims for clarity of expression and consistency, without seeking effect or showmanship. Aging allows the wines to find their natural balance, maintaining straightforward, approachable profiles that remain true to their origin. The Hauller family style prioritizes drinkability, precision, and a convivial approach to wine, designed as much for sharing as for pairing with a meal.
The Hauller family thus embodies a rare continuity in the Alsatian vineyard, where the transmission of the gesture, the local roots and the consistency of style make it possible to offer wines that are legible and coherent, deeply linked to their territory and to a long artisanal history.
