Ouled Thaleb
The Domaine des Ouled Thaleb is one of Morocco’s oldest wineries, founded in the 1920s in the Benslimane region, about 50 km northeast of Casablanca, and now recognized as a leading producer within the AOG Zenata appellation. It spans many hectares planted with noble grape varieties of French origin, grown in clay-sandy and schist soils under a Moroccan climate conducive to ripening.
The estate produces a wide range of red, white, and rosé wines, including iconic vintages such as the Syrah “Tandem”—the result of a collaboration with oenologist Jacques Poulain and inspired by the winemaking practices of Crozes-Hermitage—as well as wines like “S de Siroua” and “Signature,” which express aromatic intensity, deep fruitiness, and spicy notes.
The wines of Domaine des Ouled Thaleb are crafted and aged with a careful balance between tradition and modern techniques, featuring hand-harvested grapes and the use of stainless steel tanks, barrels, or other aging methods tailored to each vintage. They have helped establish Moroccan wines on international markets and are often paired with grilled meats, couscous, or spicy dishes.
