Priorat

Priorat is one of only two Catalan appellations with DOCa status, the highest level in the Spanish classification system. Grown on llicorella soils (schist and black quartz), it produces red wines with a concentration and minerality found nowhere else in the world.

Garnacha and Cariñena from old vines—some over a century old—produce wines of abyssal depth: candied black fruits, olive, schist-driven minerality, silky tannins, and an endless finish. Among Spain’s greatest wines.
